Buses replaced trains on the Western line during the weekend to enable progress to be made on the New Lynn trench project.
It’s a project that is visually interesting as there are lots of massive cranes, heavy machinery and big deep underground trenches being built. The second southern (Clark St) wall is now being built.
It won’t be finished for another 14 months or so.
It’s something to watch while waiting for a train at the temporary New Lynn station and Project Dart has also put up an information screen in the neighbouring LynMall to explain the process (three images here are from that information screen
