Veolia contract goes to 2014
France’s Veolia Transport has won a long-term extension of its contract to run Auckland trains. Fair enough. They took a gamble, have taken lots of crap which wasn’t all the company’s fault and are making improvements.
So long as the contract demands accountability when things go wrong.
Even better is the promise of 35 multiple-unit electric trains whisking passengers around the region at 10-minute frequencies by 2014.
Suggestion: Can we make it any earlier?
Meanwhile good to see construction work continues between Britomart, Newmarket and New Lynn.
