Supporting the All Blacks is one thing but going literally black for the final was not on Auckland’s agenda.
After a power cut in the New North Road heart of Kingsland’s bar and cafe village since 2.15pm, Vector has had to bring in generators to try to keep the bars in business for their biggest ever night.
Vector says the underground power cut can’t be repaired until at least tomorrow so generators sit in the middle of New North Rd and outside key bars the Kingslander and Neighbourhood.
Thank goodness, Eden Park is on a separate power feed.
There, thousands pour in for the Big Match amid a festive atmosphere.
