Long Weekend Rail Changes

 

Regular train services between Britomart and Morningside on Saturday night will once again be suspended in both directions between 8.30pm and 11pm to allow for the movement of a large number of people after the Blues Chiefs game at Eden Park.
Rugby fans going to Eden Park on Saturday for the Blues vs. Chiefs game can travel on special event trains to the game.  There are also alterations to the western line service between 6.00pm and 10.30 pm due to the rugby game.

Trains and special event buses are free to all Super Rugby games at Eden Park with a match ticket from 4.30pm.
Starting from 4.30pm on game day, special event trains from Waitakere will terminate at Morningside.  

Travelling from Britomart special event trains will terminate at Kingsland, stopping only at Grafton Station on route. These trains will depart approximately every 10 minutes between 4.30pm and 6.50 pm

Kingsland is the game day station for passengers travelling to and from the city.  Morningside is the game day station for passengers travelling to and from the West.

Due to essential electrification works rail network buses will replace trains from Papakura to Britomart via Glen Innes. Train services between Otahuhu and Britomart via Newmarket will continue to operate on a slightly revised timetabled service.

Passengers will be able to transfer onto rail replacement bus services at Britomart if travelling towards Papakura via Glen Innes, or onto normal scheduled train services if travelling between Britomart and Otahuhu via Newmarket.

A number of free special event buses to Eden Park will run from Auckland CBD, Albany, Takapuna, Manukau/Pakuranga/Botany and Newmarket/Mt Eden.

QUEENS BIRTHDAY TRAINS

Buses will replace some trains this Queens Birthday weekend to allow KiwiRail and Auckland Transport to continue upgrading the rail network and prepare it for electrification.

Southern Line: Papakura to Otahuhu

Eastern Line: Papakura to Britomart via Glen Innes

On Sunday and Monday, buses will replace all trains on the full network.

Replacement rail bus services will be provided during the closures and special timetables will be in place for them.

    Not really about this Weekend, but ive always wondered how much tourists during the RWC would use the trains? I bet some people from PT focused countries will be shocked to discovered how behind times we…..well the GOVERNMENT is in terms of urban planning.
