Easter Rail Work Continues

 

Pre-electrification work around the Auckland rail network is continuing today as part of the Easter shutdown.

At Newmarket Junction / Sarawia St today, sleepers are being replaced near the Sarawia St level crossing.

Vegetation removal along the track is being done between Sarawia Newmarket and the Parnell Tunnel in addition to finalising a new signalling.

On The Western line installation of foundation for electrification masts is continuing especially between Mt Albert and Morningside.

Other works today include:

  • Track maintenance and drain clearance Manurewa-Homai
  • Clevedon Rd Papakura overbridge work continues
  • On the Eastern Line, preparation for resignalling between Britomart and Westfield including digging trenches, drilling pits and ducts

    I saw a Kiwirail vehicle rolling along the Onehunga line yesterday afternoon. What were they doing there?
