Ticket fare evasion crackdowns continue this week.
A blitz was conducted this afternoon and tomorrow there will be one at Newmarket.
Tickets have to be shown before getting on the train or a ticket bought.
The Newmarket one tomorrow is already well signposted at the Newmarket station ticket office so in many ways the exercise 1s a scare tactic to say they are watching out for evasion and like speed cameras, one day you might be caught!

Hopping on a train at Britomart without a ticket is not fare evasion, so why hassle people for it?
I think this is more about getting people used to pre-buying tickets in the run up to integrated ticketing and turnstyles.
