Does anyone know why kiwirail is taking its sweet time updating the livery on all their trains?
Hi Luke
It is rather expensive to repaint a loco, so it only gets done when they go in for a mojor overhaul. Remember there are still a few locos running round in the red livery(fruit salad) that hasnt been applied for about 20 years!
Stagecoach continued to run yellow buses for years after they bought the company and likewise NZBus still continue to run Stagecoach branded buses years after they bought the company. Kiwirail is run on the smell of an oily rag so pain jobs are the last thing on their priority list at the moment.
