Tauranga Expressway Finished

An official opening of NZTA’s  Bay of Plenty Harbour Link Project will be held on Friday.

The project provides a continuous four-lane expressway from Takitimu Dr in Tauranga city through to Mount Maunganui, and includes a 2.5m wide shared walkway/cycleway on the Mount Maunganui side of the new harbour bridge.

Paint markings on the shared walkway/cycleway are being put down together with 15km/h speed limit signs, to remind cyclists and pedestrians that the pathway is shared, and users need to be considerate of one another.

I heard Winston Peters on the radio, pissing and moaning that he didn’t get to open it… Hey Winston you ain’t in government anymore…

I would have been the same if I was Christine Fletcher when I saw John Banks opening Britomart. It’s ironic that it now has a plaque with John Banks’ name on it yet he was its biggest opponent and did everything he could once in office to cancel it.
