Angry Commuters Torch Trains

Let’s hope others don’t follow this trend..

A train derailed on a busy line connecting Buenos Aires’ commercial district with the eastern suburbs, leaving thousands of travellers stranded at stations.

Enraged commuters then set fire to train cars at three different stations.(Hat tip Joust)

Seems a bit dumb really. If you torch the train that’s only likely to delay it even further.

This is one excuse I _would_ accept for failure to meet performance targets.

I expect that the next report will tell how angry peasants burned the signalling.

  3. Chris says:

If we do this, will we get electric trains earlier?

  4. Carl says:

    ^ haha

was just going to say that.

  5. Andrew says:

Hm, setting fire to a train because it’s delayed seems a bit … counterproductive?

I think the general populace here is more intelligent than this.

  6. Luke says:

I though the old railcars didn’t really need any help being set on fire, they are quite happy doing it themselves!

After travelling in Argentina I came up with this riddle. Why is it great to see an Argentine eating icecream? Because it is the only time they don’t smoke. Maybe on that train they ran out of icecream.

    @Matt.

    BRILLIANT! xD!

  9. Paul in Sydney says:

    3 different stations!!!

Even total and complete stupidity isn’t original!
