Rumble Over Rubble

I noticed strange scenes this afternoon in Auckland City’s Victoria St as the owners of the demolished Palace Hotel appear to be arguing with demolition workers.

The property has not been cleared of the rubble from the hotel, demolished after the Auckland Council deemed it unsafe but Ward Demolition has moved onto the property on the corner of Federal St to remove it.
But a man, said to be one of the Wellington owners of the hotel, who was wanting to turn the old hotel into a brothel in time for the RWC 2011, is arguing on the footpath and apparently won’t allow the removal to go ahead.
There is a BMW parked in the Federal St entrance way which makes the demolition difficult to proceed.
