Sad News From Pike River

Such sad news the trapped minders have not survived.
It’s been hard to concentrate on this afternoon’s good news about the CBD rail loop while the national tragedy is unfolding.
My thoughts are with the families and I hope that the media stop harassing them and leave them to grieve privately at this shocking time.
Hopefully in time, the inquiries that will be held will bring forward learnings that will reduce the risk in a dangerous occupation.

“If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane, I’d walk right up to Heaven and bring you home again” Dedicated to the 29 Pike River Miners. We’ll get through New Zealand… stay strong.

Having followed extremely closely and hoped against all odds over the past few days, I am absolutely devastated with what has happened. What I feel, the absolute grief and sorrow, cannot compare with what miners’ families must feel. My heart and thoughts continue to go out to the families. Stay strong New Zealand. Kia Kaha.

  3. Paul in Sydney says:

    With respect
