Auck Transport Settling In

Day 2 and no great dramas at Auckland’s new new organisation responsible for transport in Auckland.

Auckland Transport’s chief executive, David Warburton, says apart from some minor issues with IT logon protocols the first day went off smoothly.

“These sorts of isolated issues are expected in any re-organisation of this size, but they were resolved quickly,” he says. “Most importantly, our customers received prompt, efficient, service across the board. I couldn’t be more pleased with how the first day went.”

Auckland Transport is responsible for all of the region’s transport services (excluding state highways) - from roads and footpaths, to cycling, parking and public transport.

The one thing I hope they do improve on is the logo. I saw another car with the new logo on yesterday and it looks very bland when you think the CCo is responsible for exciting things like buses and trains!

  2. karl says:

No, they are moving in over November and December, and some will even stay put for the short term.

Yes, I saw the logo on a car trolling through the back streets of Manurewa. Hideously boring logo!

Although I would rather a boring logo and more money spent on PT than the other way around
