Eden Park’s Goal Posts On Trade Me

Want Eden Park’s famous goal posts?
They’re up on Trade me - proceeds going to the Canterbury quake appeal.

It’s the genuine thing - the towering 18 metre steel posts, weighing in at 700kgs apiece.

You’ll need to pick them up from the park and transport them yourself to your front lawn where the neighbours will love them.

Newer, lighter set of goals on the way for the Rugby World Cup 2011, The Eden Park Trust is selling the goals as part of the build up to its official re-opening and Charity Public Open Day on 10 October, where all the proceeds raised will be gifted to a range of local and national charities.

Early bids were just over $1000

Nice idea but, where the hell would the average person put them? Almost as silly (but thoughtful) as the Mt Smart Tent…

  2. James B says:

It would have been good to set them up as flag poles out the front of the park.

@Andrew I suspect someone will buy them and donate them to a sports club or something.

@James B You are far too logical and practical, remember this is Auckland we are talking about.
