Subscribe to RSSManawatu Train Death
Fielding Police are currently investigating the death of a male after he was struck a train at approximately 9pm last night.
A north- bound freight train rounded a bend on the railway tracks near the Maewa Station and struck the male who was lying between the tracks.
The identity of the male has yet to be established and Police are conducting a number of enquiries to ascertain who this person was.
