The main roadworks to improve North Shore’s Lake Road between Jutland Road and Napier Avenue is about to start.
Over the next few months, the project will start to take shape with road widening on Lake Road’s west side (northbound towards Takapuna), the installation of a new pedestrian crossing, stormwater drainage upgrades and landscaping.
It will continue until mid-next year.
The council is now allowed to do some work in the early morning and in the evening, outside peak travel times.
The good news is that this should allow the project to be completed in 12 months rather than the originally expected 15 months but motorists are told to still expect some delays.
