Thankfully the sun did come out during Queen’s Birthday weekend to help rail workers take advantage of the rail line closures.
Pre-electrification work continues at a number of stations.
For example, at Mt Albert, the masts have not reached the station yet - but cabling was happening at the weekend to get ready for the day.
In Morningside, level crossing work was being done.
The next weekend disruption will be on the weekend of June 18 & 19 and see these lines closed:
SOUTHERN LINE: Papakura to Otahuhu
WESTERN LINE: Waitakere to Newmarket
