Three rail bridges in Manurewa needed rebuilding for electrification  -Jutland Rd, Browns Rd and Station Rd. Browns Rd is due to reopen in early February and Station Rd at the end of January. Clevedon Rd in Papakura is also closed 26 through until mid-March while that bridge is also replaced.

Here is a look at the work at Browns Rd around the Homai station as part of the Auckland Summer rail development programme.

    thanks guys

  2. Luke says:

has Homai been expanded for 6 cars yet? is there are date set for introduction of six-cars on the eastern/southern?

  3. patrick says:

Homai is already long enough for 6 car trains.
The hold up is Otahuhu, which needs to be redeveloped

  4. Finn says:

What about Westfield? Does Westfield need to be longer?

  5. Finn says:

And what about Te Mahia, Takanini, and Penrose?

  6. patrick says:

Te Mahia and Takanini have had their platforms extended
I’m not sure if 6-car trains are intended to be used between Newmarket and Westfield (southern Line)
I dont think passenger numbers warrant them at this time.

Third photo looks like the diggers are eating the track ;-) Sorry for being so childish in my comments today ;-)
