Resignalling around Quay Park and Britomart is a major part of the Summer Rail work around Auckland.

    Would be a good idea to fence in these cabinets. Because of their sad sprayed look but isn’t this too dangerous as they are under the electric power? Everybody, particularly these kids and teenagers can come to injuries. Anyway, thanks for photos, enjoying the progress

    I like that the signals can be tipped down for maintenance. Smart design!

    I noticed that the signals in the tunnel - for departing trains, show a big D in white just below the green lights. Any idea what the D stands for and are there other letters?

    The other new signals (out in the open) just has another light below the red and green lights.

    I think it would stand for Down with is the techinal name for the line northern side of the tunnel. The other line is the Up line so if a train was scheduled to run on the wrong line out of the tunnel it would say U
