Pouring of concrete for the start of the West-bound extended platform for Baldwin Ave started this weekend.
Workers took advantage of the West line being free of trains to start the building of the first of the new platforms.
The whole revamp at Baldwin to accommodate the 6-car trains and modernise the station will take until the end of January.
The bigger platforms aere a little further down the track from the existing ones towards Morningside and away from the curve.
..and just down the road at Morningside, workers worked right through the night on Saturday on the new signalling there.
And with only the Eastern Line running this weekend, it was strange to see such a limited choice on the Britomart info board!
