Passengers Spot Body

An upsetting discovery this afternoon for people waiting on Brkenhead wharf for the ferry.

It was a body which police now confirm as being that of a missing man,  87 year old Hoo Kim.

Mr Kim was last seen at his home address in Ellen Ave, Hillcrest, on Tuesday.
His body was found this afternoon by members of the public onboard the Birkenhead Ferry and others present at the wharf.
Police say the death has now been referred to the Coroner.

Mr Kim’s next of kin have been informed and ask to have their privacy respected at this time

“…and ask to have their privacy respected at this time.”

So you publish the event and the man’s name & home address, then tweet it…

@Sam Don’t be silly. The police statement I was given includes his name for publication as the man has been missing and police had been asking people to look out for him. The police dont want people to look for him anymore. The privacy note is to ask mainstream media not to go chasing his family for comment which they do over and over again.
I have never published any name or details that the police have asked not to be published or any other authority. These were the details they GAVE to be published.
