Time Running Out For Surprise Mayor

If any exciting new Auckland mayoral candidate is going to arise, there are only a few hours left for that person to do the official paper work.

Nominations for the new Auckland Council close at midday tomorrow.

As of 5pm today, 359 nominations have been received for 170 vacancies – 11 mayoral candidates, 65 council candidates and 283 local board candidates.

A number of nominations received today are still being processed.
