Here a sneak preview of how Grafton’s new station feels standing down at platform level (thanks Ontrack, ARTA)..
It’s certainly a change from the ground level Boston Rd, which it replaces but not as underground as the new New Lynn!
The new station will be officially opened tomorrow week and in operation on the Monday morning for commuters, along with the tweaked timetable.

I had a good look this evening while running past. There are now temporary scaffold safety rails on the stairs and some of the electronic signs are running.
It’s definitely a well lit station at night.
Interesting to see both Grafton and New Lynn using next-generation LED floodlighting for some of their lights.
So its the 9 April opening just ceremonial, then? It will open earlier?
@Max It is just the opening ceremony for the officials. Trains start there first thing Sunday morning.
